Journey from Santiago to Chile's northern deserts with an expert on the ancient world of the Americas.

Travel with a Met curator of ancient American art as you savor the stunning scenery, unique flora and fauna and amazing artifacts of Chile. The journey begins in the cosmopolitan capital of Santiago with a private visit to the renowned Pre-Columbian Art Museum, a drink at a famous artist's studio, a meal at a lively market, and numerous other opportunities to experience this exciting city. A trip to vibrant Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, includes a tour of the former residence of poet and Nobel Prize laureate Pablo Neruda. During a three-night stay in Atacama, discover the world's highest altitude desert and the Chaxa Lagoon in the Los Flamencos National Park, and admire the scenery of Death Valley, Moon Valley, and the Andes mountain range. In the Maipo Valley, enjoy the regional vintages and ornamental gardens of the Santa Rita Winery.
