Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands: A Family New Year’s Celebration Aboard Isabela II
Start Date: December 27, 2010
End Date: January 07, 2011
Trip Status: Open

Welcome the New Year in the enchanting Galapagos Islands, an archipelago 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. As we journey through what is truly a "living laboratory,” following in the footsteps of Charles Darwin, we will observe species of marine, animal and bird life found nowhere else in the world. The camaraderie of friends and family will add a special dimension to this remarkable travel program, designed to appeal to all ages.

During our cruise, local naturalist guides, members of the Charles Darwin Research Station, will give daily briefings and accompany us in small groups onshore, where we explore landscapes ranging from tropical forests to crater lakes and lava formations. Nature lovers, birders and adventurous spirits will enjoy this wonderful opportunity to witness the inspiration for Darwin's numerous observations leading to his theory of evolution. The antics of sea lions, fur seals and other wildlife, seemingly without fear of humans, will delight photographers, and the opportunity to swim alongside these animals promises to be the experience of a lifetime!
